Colour photographic prodn. from black and white originals involves giving the linear, areas and characters the desired colour, using at least 2 reproduction films, and then copying all the individual colour information on a single substrate. A black and white negative is prepd. and positive film(s) is/are made from this. The individual coloured copies are made and then copied together and colour developed. Black is converted to white lines by exposure with a reproduction negative. The film and paper have highly accurate alignment holes. The process uses relatively little time and material and gives a colour diapositive or paper with as good sharpness and colour brilliance as a full colour print.
