The hollow unit with two parallel sides and two longitudinal sides, can be filled with earth, to support plant life when forming part of an outdoor wall, esp. retaining wall. The element is in the form of a trough, more or less clear of the ground, with inclined opposite longitudinal sides (4,5). These may slope opposite ways, and be of different height. One may be of the same height as the other sides (2,3), which may have two parallel serrated edges (8,9). The edges (10,11) of these sides joined to the longitudinal sides may slope like them. This can be incorporated in any position in a retaining structure, and permits adequate planting, even on steep embankments, but is full-walled so as to prevent continuous cavity formation if not properly filled.
|
