PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of an ink reservoir while enabling it to maintain the same storing effect as a larger ink reservoir, by making it possible for waste ink to be absored into a waste ink reservoin provided with a built- in abosrber, and then, by allowing the ink to be vaporized. CONSTITUTION:A waste ink reservoir 1 for an ink jer recroding device is provided with an built-in absorber 2 for absorbing waste ink, and at the same time, an opening 3 is provided for vaporizing thus absorbed ink. Waste ink sent out from the recording device is absorbed by the absorber 2, and the ink absorbed by said absorber 2 is vaporized from the opening 3. A heat-generating body 6 is arranged in the neighborhood of the opening 3 as a means to accelerate vaporization, and this is heated by a power source 7. Further, by providing a needle 5 as an integral part of the waste ink reservoir 1, and also by fixig the absorber 2 to the ink resevoir 1, the absorber 2 is prevented from deformation. |
