The arrangement enables blood to be extracted from a vein using a hollow needle, mixed with a sodium compound, and tested for individual component settling speed in a blood settling tube. One settling tube (22) end is placed in a syringe (21) to form a cylinder and piston. The other end of the tube and the cylinder of the syringe near the needle (25) have sealing caps (24,27). Alternatively, the needle may be placed in the end of the tube remote from the cylinder, in which case the tube contains the sodium compound at the cylinder end. |
