The joint housing comprises an insulated body (1) of silicon rubber or Ethylene Propylene Copolymer materials in which there is a screen electrode (2) at high voltage potential and a reference or control electrode (3) at earth potential all contained in a metallic housing (4). The metal (4) is embedded in the insulating body (1). The test electrode (5) is located inside the metallic housing (4) and reaches into the proximity of the screen electrode (2). The test electrode (5) is an insulator with a conducting coating (8). The test electrode (5) makes an external appearance through a boring (7) in the metallic housing (4) and has a wrap around grommet lip (6) to prevent contact with the metal housing (4).
