<p>Mfr. of a box-shaped housing, esp. a casing for electrical equipment for use on construction sites, operates on the principle of making the glass fibre reinforced plastics casing by winding on a core. Transverse walls, panels, etc. contg. apertures are fixed in this core, their edges protruding slightly beyond the intended internal periphery of the casing, so that as the casing is wound and cast the edges of the panels become thoroughly fixed and embedded in it. Pref. the edges of these transverse panels are previously ground to remove any impurities which could damage the plastics of the surrounding casing. The surrounding casing itself may be cast in an external mould. The method is time-saving and ensures fixity and sealing of the transverse panels in the casing wall.</p> |
