PURPOSE:To compress and transmit facsimile signal, by enabling high speed processing, through the parallel operation of a readout operation of run length counter and ROM and parallel-serial conversion of ROM output and code transmission operation. CONSTITUTION:The run length of document information is counted at a run length counter 10, a digital code is read out from ROMs 11, 12 in response to the count output, the effective part of the ROMs 11, 12 is picked up, and a coding circuit such as modified Hoffmann is provided with a fast-in, fast-out FIFO buffer 22. This buffer 22 separates the control between a load control circuit 23 and a shift control circuit 24, and the output of the ROMs 11, 12 is inputted to the buffer 22 through a multiplexer 21. The data processing is made at a high speed by enabling the parallel operation of the count of the counter 10, readout of the ROMs 11, 12, parallel- serial conversion of the output of the ROMs 11, 12 and transmitting operation of the coded code. |
