PURPOSE:To protect a slide table of a feed device from damage caused by collision or the like, by connecting the slide table with a feed mechanism through a connecting member which is easily broken. CONSTITUTION:When a threaded shaft 4 rotated by a motor, an upper slide 11 is moved in the axial direction of the shaft 4 together with a nut 5 and a lower slide 6. When a trouble occurs in a drive system or the like in the machine tool, the feed mechanism 10 becomes uncontrollable and the upper slide 11 crashes against a frame or the like. At that instant, a breakable connecting part 12c pro-vided next to a notch 15 of the connecting member 12 is broken, whereby the shock of the crash is prevented from being transmitted to the feed mechanism 10 as such. Accordingly, it is possible to protect feed mechanism 10 and the slide table 11 from damages. |
