Device for the removal of a fire detector (20) having a substantially rotational symmetrical form of a bayonet socket which device comprises a cylindrical component (3, 23) sliding over said fire detector, and the axis of said component corresponding to the rotational axis of said fire detector, characterized by a gripping device having at least one element (1) which on application of an axial pressure to said device is sliding over the outer surface (21) of said fire detector (20) in radial direction inward until it contacts said outer surface (21) of said fire detector (20).
