PURPOSE:To permit immediate reading of the impact energy of a test piece from a pointer by inscribing a scale indicating the rotating angles of a hammer and an impact energy scale on a circular scale plate in mutually opposite positions. CONSTITUTION:An impact test is carried out by breaking a test piece 5 on a support table 4 by means of a hammer 3 mounted freely rotatably to a stand 2 via a revolving shaft 1. At this time, a scale plate 11 assuming a circular shape is fixed to the revolving shaft 1 of the hammer 3 coaxially thereto by means of set screws 12, and a pointer 13 of length roughly equal to the diameter of the scale plate is mounted in such a manner that its center can rotate integrally with the hammer 3. An angle scale 14 for reading lifting angles and swinging-up angles of the hammer 3 is inscribed in the right half of the plate 11, and an impact energy scale 15 and an impact value scale 16 are inscribed in the left half. Hence, if the lifting angle of the hammer 3 is set at a constant value, the pointer 13 stops in the position of the maximum swinging-up angle, and impact energy is read directly. |
