<p>Steel is coated with a tough, protective film of plastic resin by abrading the surface of the steel to clean it, heating the cleaned steel with an electric induction coil to above about 400.degree.F., covering the heated portion of the steel with a powdered, fusible, thermosetting plastic, and keeping the covered portion of the member and the powder on it at a temperature sufficiently high and long enough to cause the powder to fuse into a continuous film bonded to the steel surface.</p> |
