The tool is for fitting a seal to a franking machine for franking envelopes, etc. It consists of a housing with a stamp at one end. The stamp can be heated by an electric current. The stamp (6) is attached to a block (5) fitted into the housing (2). The block is made from a material with a good thermal conductivity. The block contains an electric heating element of about 120 watts power output. The heating element is connected to the alternating current supply source via a bimetallic thermostatic switch which limits the temp. to 195 deg.C. max. The block is separated from the wall of the housing by insulating rings (7).
