A temperature-responsive actuator particularly for use in sanitary mixing valves comprises an essentially rigid housing in which is located an expandable substance which acts on a thrust pin (4) via a diaphragm (3). The housing consists a cylindrical shell (10) and cover (11) which locate the diaphragm and the thrust pin. A coiled tube (2) filled with the expansible substance is in communication with the capsule and serves as the temperature- sensitive element.
