<p>The cable cutting machine allows the choice of various lengths and sizes of wire. The cable is wound round the perimeter of a drum and held in slots in clamps. The clamps move axially along the drum surface so that a sprial of wire is formed. At the extreme end of the drum the wires are cut, and the clamps, now free from the drum, are moved apart to separate the wire ends. In the final stage the wire ends are inserted into the stripping and terminating mechanism.</p> |
