Arrangement for limiting the time of storage of confidential information at data terminals which interact with a database. The terminal has a memory 5 with a special memory field 16 for confidential information and an erasing circuit 7 for this memory field. A monitoring arrangement includes a switch element 8 which can be manually held in a position where it prevents an activation signal from going to the erasing circuit and a time circuit 9 which sends an activation signal to the erasing circuit after a certain time of storage of the confidential information in the memory.
