NEW MATERIAL:Antibiotics Y-16482alpha and Y-16482 beta whose hydrochlorides have following physical and chemical properties: appearance, a pale yellow powder; melting point, carbonizing from 215 deg.C (230 deg.C), liquefying at 260 deg.C (higher than 300 deg.C); elementary analyses, C55.10(54.83)%, H 6.61(6.54)%, N8.88(9.01)%, Cl<-> 11.40 (11.99)%; solubility, soluble in water, methanol, hardly soluble in etyl acetate, benzene; specific rotatory power, [alpha]D<21>-106 deg.(-144 deg.) (c=0.5 in methanol); color reactions, positive to ninhydrin, Dragendorff and ferric chloride reactions, the values in ( ) are those of the beta-isomer. USE:Antibiotic and carcinostatic agent. PREPARATION:A strain of Pseudomonas fluorescens A2-2 (FERM-14) is cultured to accumulate Y-16482alpha Y-16482beta substances in the culture mixture and they are collected. |
