<p>PURPOSE:To decrease the sp.gr. of a microbe immobilizing carrier with respect to the conventional carrier, to save energy, and to apply the title treatment to a large-sized treating device by separating treated water and the microbe immobilizing carrier with a screen. CONSTITUTION:The carrier 26 having 1.0-1.1 sp.gr. and on which microbes for biologically purifying waste water are immobilized is suspended in the waste water in a treating vessel 21, and the waste water is purified. The suspension of treated water and the carrier 26 is separated by the screen type separator 27 provided at the outlet of the treating vessel 21 into treated water and the carrier 26, the carrier 26 is again suspended in the treating vessel 21, and the treated water is discharged from the treating vessel 21. Namely, since separation is performed by a screen, the sp.gr. of the microbe immobilizing carrier can be decreased to lower than the lower limit of the conventional technique. As a result, the energy for suspending the carrier 26 can be sufficiently supplied in the ordinary case by the air used for the biological treatment of waste water, and energy can be saved. In addition, this method can also be applied to a mass treating device.</p> |
