PURPOSE:To reduce the change of pressure in a head and to make possible stable jet of small drops of ink by a method wherein a buffer tank having an air layer upward is provided in a head and ink is supplied to said buffer tank through a duct. CONSTITUTION:The head 1 provided detachably on a carriage 2 is connected to an ink tank 6 through a duct 5. The head 1 and the duct 5 are connected through a T-shaped pipe 7 and one of them forms an upward opening and is fixed to the buffer tank 10. Generally the lower half of the depth of this buffer tank 10 is filled with ink 9 and the tank is closed with a cover 12 leaving an air layer 11 in the upper half thereof. To take an example, when the head 1 is accelerated suddenly from left to right, force Fl operates by means of the ink 9 in the duct 5 and the change of pressure of the ink 9 in the head 1 is absorbed by the air layer in the buffer tank 10. |
