PURPOSE:An effective amount of an interferon inducer extracted from a plant in Artemisia or its variant is given to men and animals to induce interferon to a high level with high safety to cure viral infections. CONSTITUTION:A plant in Artemisia that includes an interferon inducing substance such as Artemisia princeps Pamp. or A capillaris Thun. or its variant is extracted to collect to IF inducer. Then, an effective amount of the inducer is given to men or animal capable of inducing interferon to cause interferon induction. The inducer also is used as an antitumor agent or improver of physilogical activity. The effective dose is intravenously 0.01-1.0mg/kg in men. Its physical and chemical characteristics shows that the inducer is thought to be a high polymer of about 100,000-3000,000 molecular weight, consisting of mainly aminoacids and phosphoric acid, a kind of protein containing phosphoric acid. |
