Wood comminution and chip production system - has roller with inbuilt knives and section breaker elements

The tooling system is for use in comminution of wood for production of chippings, having a revolving roller with a number of long unbroken knives and a series of interchangeable breaker elements. A series of cut out sections (2) in the roller (1) run uniformly at an angle to the long axis of the roller. The cut out (2) sections are used for mounting of the long knives (3) with uninterrupted cutting edges (3a). A knive holder (12) within which the plate type breaker elements (16) are mounted and a tensioning beam (4) are also mounted in the cutout (2). The breaker elements (16) make contact with the wooden material being processed before the action of the knives.
