Life buoy for one person - has closed cockpit kept upright by ballast and closed with sealed lid with air vent

The life buoy consists of a cockpit (1) which contains a seat (15) and is closed by a lid (7). The cockpit is separated from the ballast by a floor (2). The ballast container (3) is filled with water through a valve (4) and is vented through a pipe (5). The bottom of the ballast container has a counterweight (13). Fresh air is admitted through an inlet pipe (6). The side of the buoy has stabilising wings (14). The lid is closed onto a soft gasket (9) to make it water tight. The buoy has a window (11) and two mobile arms (10). The cockpit is lined with insulating material and is kept vertical.
