Sealing unit for water turbine running wheel - is hermetically closed and impedes oil ingress in chamber of blade rotating mechanism

The running wheel in a water turbine comprises a hub (1) with blades (2), and has a hollow chamber (5) to take a servo unit (3) and another chamber (6) accommodating a blade rotating mechanism (4). In a section where a piston connecting rod (9) passes through a hole in an intermediary wall (7), is provided a hermetically closed sealing unit (18) which prevents oil entry into the blade rotation mechanism chamber (6). Slide surfaces in the blade rotating mechanism links are of self-lubricating material. The turbine is usable where the drop height of water does not exceed 80 metres.
