Security guard for bank strong room - has horizontal stacked steel plates which expand to fill interior

The guard is used in bank strong room (1) using an expandable openwork structure (11a) to fill the interior at times when authorised access is not required. The structure is of material which resists thermal and mechanical attack, expanding to prevent the movement of a would be thief inside the interior. A square room (1) may use horizontal steel plates (11a,11b) which stack against the ceiling (2) when retracted, and which slide down vertical columns (8) for deployment. Plates (11a) may give nominal clearance to internal fittings (5,7), being connected by a linkage (15), and driven through a pulley wheel cable and motor.
