The device is used to clip a slot in the edge of an indicator card used to indicate the parking duration for a motor vehicle. This enables the clipped out section to be totally separated from the card to prevent fraudulent use. A U-shaped piece of a slightly flexible material has parallel arms on the ends of which are male and female elements which mate together without play. The male element comprises a block with an inclined inner face and is retained on the arm by a pin. The mating female section has the same contour as the male element and is accommodated by the increased thickness of this arm. A protrusion on this arm provides a locating stop for insertion of the indicator card.
