Self-quenching waste paper basket - has double skin with automatic valve filled with pressurised fire extinguisher gas

The waste paper basket has an opening (9) at the top and an inverted dish-shaped bottom (6). The body is built with outer skin (4) and inner skin (3) creating an overall gap (5), which is filled with an extinguishing gas heavier than air. The top rim (7) of the basket is reinforced by a triangle-cross section bead (8). Along the bottom surface of the triangle-cross section bead several gas inlet valves (10) are fitted with their orifice pointing towards the space (2) of the basket. The extinguishing gas is brought in into the gap area (5) through charge valve (11), fitted in the centre of the dished bottom (6). The gas inlet valves are designed to release a stream of gas into the space (2) due to heat in the space (2) or increased gas pressure.
