PURPOSE:To increase a transmission speed, by converting a character information in the picture information, to a character code information, and transmitting it together with a residual picture information in a remote place. CONSTITUTION:A picture part 1a and a character part 1b on a sending original 1 is photoelectrically converted by a photoelectric conversion part 2. A picture information and a character information which have been photoelectrically converted are stored temporarily in buffer memories 3a, 3b, and the information which has been stored temporarily is read out at a prescribed speed by a picture reprodction part 4. Also, the character information which has been stored in the buffer memories 3a, 3b is character-recognized by a character recognition part 5, and the picture information which has been reproduced by the picture reproduction part, and the character code information are sent by a sending part 6 in accordance with a prescribed format. |
