PURPOSE:To increase both the working precision and the productivity and at the same time suppress the crosstalk, by carrying out just a groove working to obtain the track width. CONSTITUTION:The grooves 13a and 13b are formed on the working gap forming surfaces 1 and 3 of core blocks 2 and 5 to decide the track width. These grooves are cut from the lengthwise upper edges of the surfaces 1 and 3 and with use of an edged tool having the blade thickness A whose tip is formed like a sawtooth in a single direction and with the depth D so as to obtain the linearity of the track width. Then the edged tool is fed by an extent equivalent to the track width to obtain a prescribed track width, and then the grooves 13a and 13b are cut again with depth D. This working is successively repeated. The core blocks 2 and 5 are butted to each other to make the grooves 13a and 13b opposite to each other, and then glass bonding is given to obtain a prescribes core thickness t with every pitch P. For this purpose, the groove part filled up with the glass 8 is cut successively with the cut groove H having a width of angle theta in the right-angled direction to the working gap. Thus the head chips are produced. |
