PURPOSE:To obtain a high contrast image by preirradiating a photosensitive and heat sensitive type recording member having a specified basic substance generating layer, an intermediate resin layer and a specified color developing layer with visible light before a copying process so as to increase the fixing sensitivity. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive and heat sensitive type recording member is manufactured by laying a basic substance generating layer (A) based on a Co<+3> amine complex and/or a Co<+3> ammine complex, the redox couple of polynuclear quinone showing absorption in the wavelength region of 400-550nm and a hydrogen donor, a chelating agent causing slight absorption in the visible part when coordinated to Co, and an org. acid and/or an org. oxidizing agent, an intermediate layer (B) of a water soluble or emulsion resin, and a color developing layer (C) based on oxidizable leucoaminotriarylmethane, an acid promoting color development, and hexaarylbiimidazole acting as a photooxidizing agent on the leucoaminotriarylmethane by the absorption of ultraviolet rays. The recording member is uniformly preirradiated with visible light, and it is imagewise exposed to visible light, heated, and uniformly irradiated with ultraviolet light, or it is imagewise exposed to ultraviolet light, uniformly irraditated with visible light, and heated to form an image. |
