摘要 PURPOSE:To certainly adjust axes of cores to obtain the smallest optical transmission loss by moving in parallel in the surface perpendicular to a core axis with any butted condition to obtain the minimum position of optical transmission loss and by rotating at an appropriate angle to obtain similarly the minimum position. CONSTITUTION:Light having made incident from a light emitter from an end surface 1b different from an end surface 1a of a butted part 2 of an optical fiber (OF) 1 is received by a light detector provided on the end surface 1'b different from the end surface 1'a of a butted part 2 of a OF1'. When the end surfaces 1a, 1'a of the butted part move in parallel in the surface perpendicular relatively to the core axis with a state where light is received at the end surface 1'b and without a change of a butted angle, an amount of received light at the end surface 1'b changes A butted position where the maximum amount of the received light is obtained is the position at the munimum optical transmission loss. The same operation is repeated with condition rotated successively by 10 degree. Through the process, the best coupling state between cores with little transmission loss can be crertainly obtained.
