PURPOSE:To obtain a reflecting plate having superior reflectance, superior surface smoothness and high heat resistance and useful as a reflecting mirror for an optical fixing device for facsimile, etc. by forming an intermediate layer of heat resistance varnish on a substrate and a vacuum-deposited metallic film of the intermediate layer. CONSTITUTION:Heat resistant polyamidoimide varnish is applied to a metallic substrate 1 many times until about 10mum thickess is obtd., and in order to volatilize the solvent and accelerate the polymn. reaction, the varnish is cured whenever applied. On the resulting intermediate layer 2 high purity aluminum or other metal is vacuum-deposited in about 700Angstrom thickness to form a deposited film 3. Thus, a reflecting plate having 88% reflectance to light of 550mmu wavelength is obtd., and even if electric power inputted in a fixing device for facsimile using a flash lamp provided with the reflecting plate as a light source is reduced by about 10%, a recorded image comparable to a conventional one in fixing power is obtd. |
