PURPOSE:To obtain a mold which are excellent in wear resistance and which has high durability against cracks caused by thermal shocks, by performing an aging treatment to precipitation-harden a mold making parent material specific alloy is press-contacted to the mold making parent material and a solid solution treatment is performed on the coating plate. CONSTITUTION:On the inner surface of a mold making parent material composed of a precipitation-hardening type copper alloy, a coating plate of 0.01-5.0mm. thickness composed of an Ni-based alloy or a Co-based alloy which is excellent in wear resistance, is press-contacted by means of a vacuum press-contact, rolling press- contact, etc. A solid solution treatment is performed on both mold making parent material and coating plate, and then, an aging treatment is performed on them and the mold making parent material is precipitation-hardened. In this way, continuous casting molds are manufactured. |
