TONER FOR DEVELOPING ELECTROSTATIC CHARGE IMAGE AND ITS MANUFACTURE

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a toner with less unevenness in charging quantity and stable negatively charging characteristics by polymerizing a polymerizable monomer in the presence of chlorinated polyolefin. CONSTITUTION:A polymerizable unsatd. monomer such as styrene or (meth)acrylic ester is subjected to dispersion polymn. in water after adding chlorinated polyolefin such as chlorinated polyethylene, chlorinated polypropylene or chlorinated rubber together with necessary additives such as pigment and magnetic powder to manufacture a spherical toner. A small amount of a monomer for crosslinking may be added. Polymerizable monomers for a condensation polymer such as polyester or polyamide may be polymerized in the presence of chlorinated polyolefin. By the presence of chlorinated polyolefin a superior image with less unevenness in charging characteristics and low dependency on humidity is obtd.
