PURPOSE:To measure a solid content of whole milk or that of fatless milk with a little measuring error extending over a wide measuring range, by measuring each concentrations of fat, protein, milk sugar in the milk and adding the sum of function multiplied a factor to each concentration. CONSTITUTION:Infrared rays are irradiated to the milk in a cell 17 from a light source 11 and each concentration of fat, protein, milk sugar is measured and stored in storage devices 41f, 41p, 41l. Proportional factors of ash content alpha, beta, delta for each concentration are multiplied by multipliers 43f, 43p, 43l. This sum of functions alphaf+betap+deltal is made as the concentration of the ash and is added to the concentration of fat, protein, milk sugar or protein, milk sugar by an adder 44 and then, the concentration of solid content of whole milk or that of fatless milk is displayed on a display device 46. |
