An indicating device is described for an electronic flash system having TTL light metering, which has a signal generator which at the time of a test light emission gives off an electrical signal corresponding to a preselected aperture value, a light metering device which receives light from the flash passing through the photographic lens of a camera and gives off an electrical signal corresponding to the amount of light received, a comparison device which compares the output signal of the light metering device with the output signal of the signal generator and produces a flash termination signal when the output signal of the light metering device exceeds the output signal of the signal generator, and also a device for displaying the output signal of the comparison device responding to the output signal of the comparison device.
