METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING ACTIVE COKE

Coke produced in a hearth-type furnace is fed into an activation reactor, with at least some of the waste gas from the furnace being used in the reactor as a heating and/or activation gas. Hot waste gas from the reactor is fed to a waste-heat boiler for heating same. The feed charge introduced into the furnace may be coal and/or active coke which has at least partially lost its adsorption capacity, or the active coke may be fed directly into the activation reactor for re-activation purposes.
