PURPOSE:To obtain a garnet film for minute magnetic bubbles which operate stably over a wide temperature fluctuation range by adding a specific amount of Gd to a material having the composition expressed by (LaLuSm)3(FeGa)5O12, and by controlling the amounts of Ga and Sm. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic garnet film having the composition expressed by general formula (LaLu)3-x-ySmxGdyFe5-zGazO12 (where 0.3<=x<=1.0, 0.2<=y<= 1.0 and 0.0<=z<=0.8) is used. Consequently, the formation of minute bubbles having <=1mum diameter is possible and the garnet film for magnetic bubbles having characteristics favorable to the operation of an element, such as excellent temperature characterisitic, a high magnetic wall moving speed mu and small coercive force Hc, is obtained. |
