<p>PURPOSE:To set playback tape speeds in many kinds of modes automatically by discriminating a recording mode on the basis of the playback frequency of a control signal, the moving-speed information of a recording medium, etc., and by controlling the speed according to the result of the discrimination. CONSTITUTION:During reproduction, a control signal CTL recorded at the edge of a tape 3 is detected by a CTL head 8, whose detection signal is supplied to a microcomputer 10 via a CTL amplifier 9 to detect the frequency of the reproduced CTL signal. On the basis of the CTL frequency, and an N/x3 signal for standard- speed and threefold speed reproduction, mode switching signals betaI, betaII and betaIII for the tape apeed are generated and supplied to a capstan servo circuit 11. According to those mode switching signals, switching control signal N/x3, and the output of a frequency generator 7a, the circuit 11 controls a capstan motor driving voltage until the tape speed has an adequate value.</p> |
