PURPOSE:To ensure sufficient developed color density at the time of using an electron-acceptive compound in combination with an electron-donative colorless dye and enhance raw preservability and preservability with time, by using a hydroxyl-containing benzoic acid ester in which an alcohol moiety residue constituting an ester linkage has an ether linkage, s the electron-acceptive compound. CONSTITUTION:A compound is syntesized by an ester linkage-forming raction of a corresponding carboxylic acid, carboxylic acid halide, carboxylic acid metallic salt or lower alkyl carboxylate with a halide, alcohol, ester or the like having an ether linkage. The compound may be derived from a compound having an ester linkage, or may be derived from a reaction of a hydroxyl- containing benzoic acid halide or a hydroxyl-containing ester with a corresponding alcohol or olefin. A recording material obtained by using the compound is free of fogging during raw preservation, and has excellent stability with time. |
