The invention refers to a device intended for simultaneous chopping and splitting of wood, comprised of a support rack (1) intended for cutting the intended wood into pieces as well as, when the support moves back and forth across the fibre direction of the wood, a cutting edge equipped (14) with a cutting device (2). Characterizing this device is that the support rack (1) comprises an outer support arrangement intended for the wood, running in the wood's longitudinal direction with mainly V-shaped sides placed outward against each other, at which the acute-angle in the support frame is greater than the acute-angle in the cutting device. The acute angle in the outer support arrangement should be between 90 and 160 degrees and then preferably around 120 degrees, below that the acute-angle in the cutting device (2) should lie between 30 and 90 degrees and then preferably between 45 and 65 degrees and optimally between 55 and 60 degrees.<IMAGE> |
