PURPOSE:To lengthen the useful life of a field breaker and provide a generator with a simple, reliable regenerative braking system by a method wherein regenerative braking is effected without opening a field breaker. CONSTITUTION:A stop instruction opens a breaker 3. The switching over of a circuit 17 to a firing angle controlling circuit 18 side causes field current to decrease due to a thyrister bridge 9 inverter operation. The generator 1 voltage decreasing to the residual voltage level causes a voltage relay 16 to function and a disconnector 2 is closed following a speed relay 15 operation started by low speeds due to natural deceleration. Then the switching circuit 17 is moved over to the firing angle controlling circuit 19 side to effect excitation suitable to halt the generator by regenerative braking. |
