Title compds. (I; X = -OR3(R3 = H, C1-12 alkyl, substituted C3-5 alkynyl, C3-5 alkenyl), -NR4R5(R4,R5 = H, C1-4alkyl, C3-5 alkenyl, C3-5 alkinyl, benzyl; R1 = C1-4 alkyl; R2 =C1-6 alkyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl, C2-4 alkenyl) and their acid addition salts useful as plant growth regulators, were prepd. by reaction of II and alkali metal akoxide, amine or HCl. Thus, sodium propagyl alcoholate(III) was prepd. by reaction of 12.5 ml propagyl alcohol and 0.1 g NaOH under N2 blanket. 5.0 g II(R1 = CH3; R2 = CH(CH3)2) was mixed with III and HCl was added to give 6.02 g I (R1 = CH2; R2 = CH(CH3)2) X = OCH2CH2-CH3).
