<p>PURPOSE:To press and bond a decorative vener onto a tread substrate without occurrence of cracking, by providing parallel grooves having different depths in the substrate, laying the decorative veneer on the tread substrate, and pressing the decorative veneer using a mold having projections that can mate the grooves. CONSTITUTION:In the production of a tread that will be used for a staircase and has a plurality of grooves 7, 8 on top and a decorative veneer 10 attached thereon by press bonding, the plurality of grooves 7, 8 having different depths are provided in the tread part of the tread substrate 5, and the decorative veneer 10 is laid between the tread part and the mold having the projections 3, 4 complementary to the grooves 7, 8, and is pressed. As the depths differ from each other, deformation of the decorative veneer 10 can occur successively, and since tension that will occur when the depth of each groove is the same, and deformation occurs at a time is not exerted in the decorative veneer 10, the decorative veneer 10 can be pressed to be bonded to the tread substrate 5.</p> |
