PURPOSE:To enable to fill ink while removing air bubbles without requiring a special vacuum source by a method wherein an organic solvent medium readily absorbing gaseous bodies is filled into a printing head for the ink jet recorder and thereafter the organic solvent medium is replaced by the ink. CONSTITUTION:The deaerated organic solvent medium (for example; dodecan or the like) 16, readily absorbing gaseous bodies, and the ink 17 are filled into tanks 12, 13 respectively as valves 14, 15 are being closed, then, the solvent medium 16 in the tank 12 is pressurized and the valve 14 is opened to fill the solvent medium 16 into the printing head 10'. Next, the valve 14 is closed to pressurize the ink 17 in the tank 13 and then the valve 15 is opened to replace the solvent medium 16 in the printing head 10' with the ink 17. In this case, the ink 17 is supplied to effect the replacement until the solvent medium 16 is perfectly purged through the nozzle of the printing head 10'. For a further reference, if the replacement is begun when it elapsed 5-10min. after the solvent medium 16 is supplied to the printing head 10', air bubbles remained in the printing head 10' may be absorbed perfectly into the solvent medium 16. |
