<p>PURPOSE:To search for a fault position accurately by a simple processor by transmitting a specific fault searching code from a terminal station to a transmission line constituted for CMI code transmission and by processing it at each repeater station and returning the result to the terminal station. CONSTITUTION:If a fault occurs on a transmission line LL which transmits a signal from a terminal station via repeater stations RP, the transmission line LL is disconnected and a fault searching (SV) code is transmitted from the terminal station to search for the fault is position by a signal returned via the interposing PLs. For this purpose, the transmission line LL is constituted for CMI code transmission, and the SV codes, while made different in the frequency of the insertion of a ''0'' between ''1''s, are assigned to respective repeater stations RPs. At each repeater station RP, a circuit, shown in the figure, having a clock pulse generator 2f0 generating a repetitive frequency twice the fundamental frequency f0 for the generation of a CMI code, for example, processes the SV code and returns the result to the terminal station.</p> |
