PURPOSE:To obtain a thin-walled annular strip of a correct overall circumferential length size by rolling a curvable thick-walled annular strip which is belted between a rolling roll and a tension roll up to a specified distance between shafts while applying tension thereto. CONSTITUTION:A curvable thick-walled annular strip 10 is belted between a rolling roll having a highly accurate diameter and tension roll 13 which has a highly accurate diameter and is installed in parallel with this roll 11. Then, while the roll 13 is being revolved, constant tension is applied, and the strip is rolled by the roll 11 and a pressure roll 12. Thence, the distance L between the shafts of the roll 11 and the roll 13 is controlled with high accuracy, and when specified length L0 is attained, the rolling is stopped. |
