PURPOSE:To prevent breakage, etc., of a brake ring by exhausting dewing water at end part of a mold just before casting in case of executing horizontally continuous casting after water-cooling the mold and heating up a tundish, and starting casting. CONSTITUTION:At the time of water-cooling the mold 1 and heating the tundish, the dewing water 8 stays between the lend part of the dummy bar 6 and the brake ring 4. A diffuser 12 is fitted at upper part of main body 11 of an ejector 10, and when the supplied air passes through the diffuser 12 at high speed, the liquid is sucked from sucking rubber hose 17 and exhausted together with the air. A drainage pipe 16 is connected with the sucking rubber hose 17 and just before starting the casting, the dewing water 8 is exhausted while sucking by working of the ejector 10. By this method, detachment of the tundish coating and the breakage of the brake ring, etc., are eliminated, and the stable operation can be executed. |
