PURPOSE:The reaction between butanetricarboxylic acid or its derivative and a diamine in an organic solvent affords a heat-resistant polymer suitably used for coating wires, because of its sufficiently high molecular weight and high solubility in organic solvents. CONSTITUTION:(A) Butanetricarboxylic acid or its functional derivative such as anhydride or ester is made to react with (B) a diamine such as diaminophenylmethane, preferably in an organic solvent such as N-methylpyrrolidone or N,N'- dimethylformamide to produce the objective polymer. The monomer concentration is preferably 30-80wt% and the reaction temperature is in the range from 100 deg.C to the boiling point. The resultant polymer is coated directly or through an insulator to the wires and baked to give the insulation wires. Further, the coated wires may be coated with another insulation substance. |
