<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of evaporation capacity with the lapse of time in concentrating an aqueous solution containing a volatile substance, by contacting steam with the absorbent of the volatile substance contained in said steam. CONSTITUTION:The liquid to be concentrated comprising the elute containing ammonia from an ion exchange resin enters from a line 2 to be introduced into a concentrating vessel 1 from the top 4 by a liquid sending pump 3 and concentrate is withdrawn from the bottom thereof. Steam generated by concn. is introduced into a compressor 7 through a vessel 6 to be compressed therein and the compressed steam enters a heating chamber 8 to be withdrawn from a line 9 as drain. In this case, if said steam is washed by a hot water shower 10 before it is introduced into the heating chamber 8, or in said heating chamber 8, the lowering of evaporation capacity can be prevented because the hot water absorbs a volatile gas such as ammonia.</p> |
