PURPOSE:To manufacture of a saw tough, sharp and durable, with the use of compound materials. CONSTITUTION:Carbon hard steel plates 2 for blades are superposed on both surfaces of a soft iron plate 1, leaving both end parts thereof left corresponding to cutting blades. Cutting carbon hard steel plates 3 which are harder than the hard steel plates 2 are superposed to the left parts of the soft iron plate 1. Covering carbon hard steel plates 4 are covered and superposed on both surfaces of the above-mentioned superposed material. Both end faces of the superposed material are connected with welded members 5 so that a compound material is formed. The compound material is made into a saw having cutting blades 6 by a conventional method having the steps of shaping, quenching, sharpening, etc. The saw is completely formed by removing the above-mentioned covering carbon hard steel plates 4 in the step of grinding or the like. |
