<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the loss of aluminum by excessive neutralization and defective absorption of SO2 by deficient neutralization by adding calcium carbonate of the quantity corresponding to the quantity of the SO2 absorbed in an aq. basic aluminum sulfate soln. calculated by measuring the quantity of the SO2 in a waste gas before and after desulfurization. CONSTITUTION:The quantity of the waste gas and the concn. of the SO2 are continuously measured by detectors 12, 13, a meter 14 attached to a waste gas inlet line 1 and outlet line 4 and the quantity of the SO2 absorbed in the aq. basic aluminum sulfate soln. in the absorption column 2 is calculated. The amt. of the calcium carbonate slurry to be supplied to a neutralizing tank 8 is continuously and automatically controlled by operating a regulating valve 15 by the signal based on such calculation. Only the sulfrate radicals increased by the absorption of the SO2 are thereby removed in the form of calcium sulfate 11 to the outside of the system and the concn. of the aq. basic aluminum sulfate soln. to be cyclically reused is made constant.</p> |
